Besides having the best family life ever, I have an incredible passion for herbalism and my thirst for more education in this field is unquenchable. In my opinion, herbalism is LIFE. Herbalism was such a vital foundation to our sustained existence in the past is something we shouldn’t lose touch with.
I care deeply about this planet and the resources that it offers. I understand how truly complete nature is, how good it is at providing and that it is the backbone of what modern medicine has tried to mimic. Without botanicals, there would have been nothing to isolate and concentrate which is what lead us to modern medicine today.
EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING we could ever need to live perfectly healthy, connected and sustainable lives is at our fingertips. We can nourish our bodies, minds and spirit. We can build defenses to prevent and fight diseases and illnesses right from nature’s menu.
I have to say, I wasn’t always this way. Far from it. My skin crawls when I think back to my home environment when I was younger - the things I used to eat and put on my body. YIKES. You know what they say, “when you know better…you do better”. I am living that life now. I want ALL of us to be healthier, and to be wiser because of what we can learn and share with each other.
I am always happy to share the ingredients i use, where to get them if you prefer to try your hand at creating your own products at home, the natural resources available to us, and how they benefit our skin AND our lives.
I experienced some sad and scary moments that really catalyzed my decision to go down a path of health and wellness. In just one one year, my whole life changed. My husband was diagnosed with cancer. 3 months later my mom was diagnosed as well. Sadly, my mom lost her battle. Shortly after losing her, my cat and long time bestie, lost his battle with lymphoma. I was crushed. Sickness was all around me. It seemed like every where I looked there was someone else getting some sort of diagnosis or suffering.
Thankfully, my husband’s story didn’t end the same way my mother’s did. Together, we beat it! He is now cancer free and at 0% malignancy after only an 11 month fight. Now, I am not going to say that just the plants in our garden are why he is cancer-free. But I will say this...upon diagnosis, we chose the natural route and embarked on a self healing journey. It was hard but we were dedicated. We rid our home and life of cleaning products, personal care products and pet products that contained unnecessary harmful ingredients. I researched for hours on end. I became educated about things I never even gave a second thought about.
If it was organic and a whole food, we ate it. No bread. No sugar. No meat. No dairy. We chose herbs, vitamins, tinctures, acupuncture, Qigong and more. We added a heavy dose of meditation, fresh air being surrounded by nature, the power of positive thinking, lots of love from family, friends and the incredible support of an amazing doctor and here WE are today! He is alive, well and witnessing me pursue my dreams of owning and building a successful business that supports me and all of you.
So here I am…spreading my knowledge and lending visibility to the place herbs and natural products could and should have in your life.
